On 3 February, the cycle of film walks begins as part of Kinoatelje's project Nostro cine quotidiano – Our Ordinary Cinema. The cycle includes five walks dedicated to the stories, characters, locations, and films that have shaped the history of film culture in Gorizia and Nova Gorica.

The first walk in the Nostro cine quotidiano – Our Ordinary Cinema project will honor Nora Gregor, a film and theater actress born in Gorizia on 3 February 1901, who passed away in Chile in 1949. As the event coincides with her birthday, the walk will feature special guests such as Gorizia-based singer Gabriella Gabrielli and writer Hans Kitzmüller, who has dedicated several publications to Nora Gregor.

Nora Gregor, born on 3 February 1901 in Gorizia, was one of the most prominent actresses of her time, active in both Europe and Hollywood. Her career includes notable roles, such as her performances in Michael (1924) by Carl Theodor Dreyer and Jean Renoir’s classic The Rules of the Game (1939). Her life story reflects the multicultural and multilingual heritage of Gorizia, where various influences intertwined until the turmoil of war altered the city’s and its residents’ destinies.

The walk will begin on Monday, 3 February, at 3:30 PM, departing from BorGO Cinema on via Rastello. This bilingual walk, conducted in Slovenian and Italian, will allow participants to explore the multicultural environment of Gorizia, where Nora Gregor spent her childhood. It will be an opportunity to discover hidden corners of the city and the incredible life of this film and theater star. The walks are free and will continue in the coming weeks. An updated schedule will be available on the website kinoatelje.it. Places are limited, so registration via the oline form is required.

At the end of the walk, we will toast to her birthday and the launch of the film walks with cake. At 6:00 PM, in the premises of Gorizia’s Kinemax, film researcher and theorist Paolo Caneppele will lead a special talk titled Nora’s Tears.
