Eyes on the Screen, Mind on the Visions: The Cross-Border Film Festival Tribute to a Vision 2025

Sharpen your senses and mark your calendars for a cinematic experience! From October 7th to 12th, the cross-border film festival Tribute to a Vision invites you to join its 2025 edition. Once again, it will connect Slovenia and Italy, this year with a particularly festive spirit as part of the European capital of culture GO! 2025.

The festival welcomes visionaries, critical thinkers, and authors who percieve cinema as a tool for understanding society. With the support of the region's most important film institutions, we create a space for creativity, dialogue, and shared visions of the future.

At the heart of the festival is the retrospective of the Darko Bratina Award recipient, which highlights the power of an auteur’s perspective through their work. The Cinematic Gaze section explores film history, bringing it closer to contemporary audiences, while the Visionaries section showcases innovative European films, and Excursion presents short films from a selected country.

A special focus is given to the First Crossings platform, which highlights short films of all genres. The competition program brings outstanding short films from around the world, along with workshops, meetings, and networking opportunities for young filmmakers. The open call for entries will open in spring on the FilmFreeway platform.

Throughout the year, the festival travels with the Festival Caravan, bringing cinematic stories to different locations in collaboration with the Soča-Isonzo traveling cinema, the Silvan Furlan Open-Air Cinema, and partner film festivals.
